Aushires Rentals’ commitment to responsible, sustainable and environmentally conscious business practices.

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to outline Aushires Rentals’ commitment to conducting business in a responsible, sustainable and environmentally conscious manner.

Aushires Rentals recognises the importance of minimising environmental impact, improving operational efficiency and supporting long-term sustainable business practices across all operations.

Scope

This policy applies to all Aushires Rentals activities, including equipment hire operations, transport and logistics, workshops and maintenance activities, depot and office operations, site-based activities, procurement and supplier engagement. This policy applies to all employees, contractors and representatives of the business.

Waste Management

Aushires Rentals is committed to responsible waste management practices including reducing unnecessary waste generation, reusing materials where practicable, recycling suitable materials, and disposing of waste responsibly and lawfully.

  • Waste must be placed in designated disposal areas.
  • Waste must be properly segregated where required.
  • Waste must be managed in accordance with site and environmental requirements.

Fuel, Energy and Resource Efficiency

Aushires Rentals encourages efficient use of fuel, electricity, water, equipment and operational resources. Employees are expected to avoid unnecessary idling of vehicles and equipment, turn off equipment and lighting when not in use, and use company resources responsibly.

Equipment Maintenance and Longevity

The business recognises that proper maintenance contributes to sustainability by extending equipment life, improving efficiency, reducing waste and breakdowns, and minimising environmental impact. All plant, vehicles and equipment must be maintained in accordance with company procedures.

Procurement and Supplier Considerations

Where reasonably practicable, Aushires Rentals will consider sustainability factors when engaging suppliers and purchasing products or services. This may include product durability and efficiency, waste reduction, environmental practices of suppliers, and sustainable materials or technologies.

Compliance with Environmental Laws

Aushires Rentals will comply with all applicable environmental legislation, regulations and site requirements. Employees and contractors must comply with environmental controls, spill prevention requirements, waste handling procedures and site environmental rules.

Responsibilities

Employees and contractors must follow environmentally responsible work practices, comply with this policy and report environmental risks or incidents.

Managers and supervisors must promote sustainable workplace practices, monitor compliance and address environmental issues promptly.

The Director is responsible for oversight of sustainability initiatives, supporting continuous improvement and ensuring policy implementation.

Breach of Policy

Failure to comply with this policy may result in corrective action, disciplinary action, removal from site or duties. Serious breaches may result in further action where required.

Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure alignment with operational requirements, environmental responsibilities and business objectives.
